This festive reed diffuser is easy to create at home with three essential oils: Orange, Cinnamon & Frankincense.
Wonderfully fragrant, Reed Diffusers contain a blend of essential oils. The natural fragrance is diffused through natural reeds, leaving your space beautifully scented with aroma. The packaging can be very attractive too, from ceramic bottles to apothacary glass jars, they can add a decorative touch to a space. With reed diffusers the reeds are immersed in the fragrance, and they disperse the scent.
To make your own festive diffuser:
~ You will need a medium sized glass bottle or jar with a small opening at the top, wide enough to allow the reeds to fit inside. Try an antique cut glass bottle or a vintage glass jar.
~ Pour 150ml of almond oil into the glass container of your choice. Mineral oils like sweet almond oil or safflower oil tend to be the most popular because they're thin enough to travel up the diffuser reeds, allowing your room to quickly fill with the festive scent.
~ add 10 drops of Orange and 10 drops of Frankincense to the almond oil
~ add 5 drops of of Cinnamon oil
~ place 5 whole Cloves into the container and let them steep in the oil
~ to finish, place 7 or 8 reed sticks into the bottle/jar and allow them to soak up the scented oils. Finish the bottle with a piece of elegant velvet ribbon.
- as the almond oil evaporates over time more oil can be added.
Try adding in drops of alternative festive oils such as Myrrh, Pine, Mandarin, Rosemary, Juniper Berry, Sandalwood, Ginger or Bergamot.
