Marvelous Marble Mosaics.

I recently visited Truro Cathedral in Cornwall (built between 1880 and 1910) and Buckfast Abbey in Devon (built between 1907 and 1932).

Since ancient times, marble is considered to be one of the finest materials.

This stunning mosaic flooring can be seen in the Chancel area of Truro Cathedral. An Italian craftsman, Antonio Bertolucci, travelled to Truro from Lucca, Italy, to help lay it.

This stunning mosaic flooring can be seen at the altar pavement at Buckfast Abbey, Devon. 30,000 pieces of antique marble and hard-stone were used for the completion of the pavement. The stones include Purple Egyptian Porphyry, Green Greek Porphyry and Sienna marble from Italy.

The unique pattern, texture and variety of shades and halftones of marble means it organically fits into contemporary interiors to achieve exceptional designs.

Marble is timeless!
