Strawberries are members of the rose family and are the first fruit to ripen in the spring.
An excellent source of vitamins C and K as well as providing a good dose of fibre, folic acid, manganese and potassium, strawberries also contain significant amounts of phytonutrients and flavanoids which makes strawberries bright red.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 cup cold organic oat milk
2 tablespoons large flaked oats (even better if slightly roasted)
1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup A sprinkle of ground Chia seeds and a sprig of fresh mint (for the top)
Directions
Add all of the ingredients to a blender and puree until very smooth and frothy. Make sure that the strawberries that you use are sweet enough for your smoothie.
