Curtains & Sheers
Curtains offer the chance to bring colour, pattern and texture into a room.
At Studioamano, we specify custom made curtains in fabrics that add texture. The curtains may be full length, in one fabric, or perhaps two thirds in one fabric with the bottom third in another. This tends to ground the look of the curtains in the room and offers the chance to mix fabrics for visual effect.
Blinds
This style of window dressing suits small rooms and rooms with lots of windows.
There are several types of blind and are usually custom made:
Roller blinds, Roman blinds, Venetian blinds, Vertical blinds, Blackout blinds, Wooden blinds and Plantation shutters.
Blinds come in many different styles and are available in many colours, shades, tints, textures, and fabrics to match almost any decorating taste. We often specify fabric Roman Blinds or Wooden blinds/shutters on our projects.
Cushions
Cushions can transform the look of a room.
There are so many possible cushion design options and there should be something available for all budgets. Cushions can add colour to a room and by switching the colours and fabrics they can create either a formal or informal feel, or a winter to summer look .
We propose different sizes, using a mix of large, medium and and smaller cushions.
We like to use two fabric textures on the same cushion, front and back (reversible). Choosing the correct inner cushion pad/filler is vital, depending on the room location of the cushion.
Throws
Natural wool throws and sheepskins are a great way to add interest through texture and colour.
They can be used in living areas or bedrooms and quickly change the feel and comfort of a room. Like cushions they can be very versatile.
Not only are they luxuriously soft to the touch sheepskins can also offer a wide variety of health benefits. Sheepskin is a natural insulator and helps to regulate body temperature, it also promotes circulation which is beneficial for general aches and pains. Sheepskin is hypo-allergenic.
Trims & Embellishments
Depending on the level of simplicity or complexity preferred, we sometimes like to add trims and embellishments or 'Passementerie' to our soft furnishings.
